Show f II E LATE ' A,' T. STEWART .1 There are many ditad vantages coo Yiected with the ownership of enor mous wealth, probably not generally taken iuto account by tbe world at large; nost people, we imagine, think it is a great thing to be rich, and ue doubt many have envied the late millionaire, A. T. Stewart, the pos session of his vast estate, forgetting the incessant toil essential to its accumulation, as well as the carca at tending its management. During his Vifa, after he became famous, his praises were upon all meo's lips. I'oliticians ceurted, jhurch dignitaries flattered, and co doubt many iustitutiooa fawned upon him, hoping aud expecting to be remembered in his will, the same probably with employees aud poor relations; but now that he is dead, his will tnado public, and the fact is ascertained that his vast wealth is n tain-d- , mostly, in the hands of his wife, there are none so poor, as to do him lit-tra- ry SILVER COIX. silver coin in exchange for fractional currency. The fallowing officers, to wit: The Treasurer of the United States at Washington; assistant Treasurer's at Boston, New York, Philadelphia, St. Louis, Charleston, New Orleans, Cincinnati, Chicago, Francisco, Baltimore, United States depositories at Buffalo and Pittsburg, are authorized, upon pre eentation at their respective offices, of fractional currency in sums of $5 or multiples thereof, assorted by de nominations, and in amounts not ex ceeiing $ 100 to issue therefor a like amount of silver coin of tho denominations of ten, twenty, twenty-fiv- e and fifty cents. The half so itrange Tiuies tells us that the prevailing pentiment in regard to the matter is disappointment, and this last named paper gives to Stewart the bare ere dit of faith reposed in his wife, to whom he gave his property, and his gratitude to a faitUul friend, expressed by the inanificen. bequest of a uiillioa dollars to his friend Hilton.
