Directly across from Temple Square stands the church's new Museum of Church History and The Art. d building is giving a home to art and artifacts dating from the church's earliest nineteenth century beginnings. Visitors are invited to browse and let the story tell itself. There is no charge for admission. The first, Deseret Museum (1869 to 1918), was largely a museum of natural history, with a secondary emphasis on history. The new museum has its own distinctive viewpoint. It has drawn on some of the past collections, but is the first museum to emphasize the arts and the aesthetic experience. This Thursday, beginning at 1:30 p.m. and continuing through 6:30 p.m., a series of fund raising activities have been scheduled to raise funds to help rebuild Grantsville High School. The effort is being spearheaded by the staff of the "Informer," the school newspaper, according to advisor Shirley Metzler. The idea was first suggested member Suzanne by staff Parsons, who, upon hearing that donations were being taken to rebuild the school, brought it to the attention of her parents. Things just grew from there as the school PTA joined forces with the newspaper staff to set up the activity.
