BeyondSightMovie .com/tour-dates By SCOTT IWASAKI The Park Record Ian George has wanted to present a jazz night in Park City bars for quite some time. So, he, who is part of Park City Entertainment, conjured up the idea and started working out the details a year ago. “We wanted it to be appealing to a more older crowd and not just be a typical bar scene,” George told The Park Record. “The goal was to get an old-style, jazz-club cultural scene going here in Park City.” The result is Jazz Night at O.P. Rockwell, which will feature the Pat Carnahan Quartette on Saturday, April 1. The doors will open at 8 p.m. and the music will start at 9 p.m. “Prior to the live show, we’ll have a DJ spinning old-school vinyl jazz records that will set the mood,” George said. George was introduced to Carnahan by some friends. “I understood that he is a kingpin in the jazz scene up here,” George said. “He’s a great performer and musician and some- Continued From C-2 Swaner will host Producers George appreciates the jazz culture and lifestyle. “It’s not something you typically see a lot of in this area,” he said. “We want to garner up some support to keep the culture alive.” The evening will also feature a catered menu by Park City Elite Private Chefs. “Park City Elite Private Chefs is a service we work with that offers not only a full menu, but apps and bar service,” George said. There will also be an additional performance element to the show. “As Park City Entertainment, we book local performances for private and public events, so for this one, we will have different acrobatic and juggling performers,” George said. “We wanted to do something more than just have a band play on stage. That’s always good, but we wanted to add a little flair.” While general admission tickets are $15, there is a $35 VIP option. “The VIP price will include mezzanine seats, at-table bar service and specialty apps,” George said. “Since this is going to be at O.P. Rockwell, all patrons must be ages 21 and older.” Speaking of O.P. Rockwell, George said he found the perfect venue for the event. “I think it’s the classiest bar in town,” he said. Although Jazz Club at O.P. Rockwell is only a one-night show, George would like it to grow. “Depending on how it takes, we would like to see it become a monthly event,” he said. Pat Carnahan Quartette will perform at 9 p.m. on Saturday, April 1, at O.P. Rockwell, 268 Main St. The concert presented by Park City Entertainment is dubbed Jazz Night at O.P. Rockwell. Advance tickets are $15 and $35. The price will raise $5 the day of the show. I think it’s fantastic when you can create a partnership. I was excited to be a part of this.” Recycle Utah, EATS Park City and The Swaner Preserve and EcoCenter will present Meet the Producers from 5-7 p.m. on Thursday, March 30, at the EcoCenter, 1258 Center Drive at Kimball Junction.
