Show The Park Record C-8 Wed/Thurs/Fri, March 15-17, 2017 Egyptian Theatre presents Simien Submitted by the Egyptian Theatre For more than 30 years, twotime Grammy Award-winning artist Terrance Simien, an eighthgeneration Louisiana Creole, has been shattering the misconceptions about Zydeco music. Leading his Zydeco Experience band, Simien has become one of the most respected and accomplished artists in American roots music. He and his bandmates have performed more than 7,000 concerts and toured millions of miles to more than 45 countries. Simien has shared studio & stage with Robert Palmer, Stevie Wonder, Los Lobos, Taj Mahal, Dr. John, the Meters, Alan Toussaint, Paul Simon and Dave Matthews Band to name a few. He & his band mates have been featured in TV commercials and a dozen or more films, including the blockbuster “The Big Easy” which changed the game for Louisiana music in the late 80’s. Michael Wintrob Terrance Simien & The Zydeco Experience will play at 8 p.m. on Friday and Saturday, March 17-18, at the Egyptian Theatre, 328 Main St. Film Series will screen ‘Paterson’ Submitted by the Park City Film Series The Park City Film Series will screen Jim Jarmusch’s “Paterson,” rated R, Friday, March 17, through Sunday, March 19. Screenings will be at the Park City Library’s Jim Santy Audi- torium, 1255 Park Ave. Friday’s and Saturday’s screenings will start at 8 p.m. Sunday’s screening will start at 6 p.m. This delightful and unusual film observes the triumphs and defeats of daily life, along with the poetry evident in its smallest details. Paterson, portrayed by Adam Driver, is a bus driver in the city of Paterson, New Jersey-they share the name. Every day, he adheres to a simple routine that provides him with the insight and pleasures of life witnessed as it unfolds, moment-to-moment.
