Bonn! o FUty years as secretary of one Sunday school is the distinction held by Isaac Hord, for more tnan half a century an active and zealous work er in the Mitchell, Can., Methodist church. During all these years he has anil been absent from Sunday school 11 Sundays On the StOh anniversary of his appointment as secretary, the offi cers, teachers and puplla presented him an address. Five of the eight superintendents who have worked in the school with Mr. Hord were present and spoke. Sixty two years :ago Mr. Hord started to learn the dry goods bus! ness in London, Ont Eight years later he moved to Mitchell, where he has since resided. He was mar ried 55 years ago. During his term as secretary of the Mitchell Sunday school, 18 have been pastors in charge of the church. Five are still living1 and several were present at the recep tion to Mr. Hord.
