Orders have been arriving in gratifying valume during the last fortnight H. G. Parcell, sales manager declared" osterday, with every prospect that more will cumu. These orders ale lor reinforced bars, merchant bars and for light rails which the steel plant can turn out. At present the establishment about a (10 per cent production basis, as compared with the ;;o to 40 per cent of eastern mill .s The addition of the further forces of meu next week will help meet the growing requirement for steel in the vast western territory served by the corporation. In addition to the employment of men by the Utah Steel corporaiton, it is understood on the best of authority that upwards of 175 men have been placed on the payrolls of the Utah Topper company within the last fortnight. While these men are possibly not yet actually producing copper, they are making ready in their capacities as carpenters, machinists and other artisans for the coming of the civws which will before long be taking the copper out of the hills of the O.iiiirrii range. Responsible observers regard this start of the steel plant and the world's biggest copper mine as but the beginning of the activities which will greet I'tah with the romping of open weather. It had been planted deep in the elements of righteousness, and had' been irrigated by the pure waters of th mountain of integrity. Grafted on the roots of the tree had been mental, physical, moral, and spiritual develop ment. As a result this great tree had borne many excellent fruits, many of which he had personally known. At this point the doctor named a number of distinguished men who had come' into Us life. Continuing his analogy. Dr. Merrill asserted that such fruits could not come from a poor tree; the tree good and sound today. Birds from Its branches have chatted so successfully that they recently won a debate from the University of Utah and another from the Agricultural college. And now some of the fruit has shot, forth with such vigor as to knock the breath out of Tommy Fitzpatrick. "And now the question Is what kind of fruits will you young people be?
