Show CetterBok - Oct. 5, 1954 Dear Mr & Mrs Barrows: The announcement of the sale of the Midvale Sentinel came as shock to many of us. We want to take this opportunity to express to both of you our appreciation for the many things that you have done that have been for the well being and progress of the schools of this city. We realize that you have put yourself out on many occasions to give space to school announcements and school items. We realize, also, that you have been vitally inter ested in many types of activities that build community spirit and are responsible for aiding its progress. We realize further that you have worked hard and spent long hours not only in activities connected with the publishing of your excellent paper, but also in doing many of the little extra kindnesses and services that have made you a significant part of this ' community. We need not tell you that you have made many friends and that your experiences here will be a source of many happy memories for you as well as for us. We hope that your plans for the future will make it possible for you to remain in this community, but whatever happens we wish you continued happiness and your friends could wish no more than that you might enjoy the same kind of friendship where-eve-r you go. The faculty and student body of the Midvale school want to know how much they appreciate your interest and the service you have rendered this chooL All we hope is that the new manager will manifest the same interest and concern. Best wishes for your good health and success. Sincerely MIDVALE SCHOOLS Harold Ashman, Principal : -- : : To Ivi and Howard We of the Ladies Community club wish to extend a very sincere expression of appreciation for the excellent cooperation you have always given us; for your friendliness and for the fine quality local newspaper you have supplied your patrons. The Midvale Ladies Community Club Oct 5, 1954 Dear Howard find Iva: Your friends were shocked to say the least when we learned that you had sold your interest in the Midvale Sentinel. I suppose we were shocked most because we realize that there might be a possibility of your leaving this community. In the years that you have been here we have all felt your interest in the success and development of this area. What you have done individually and with your paper has played a significant role in the progress of Midvale. As a Kiwanian you have always done your part and more.
