Preparing to hand a customer two cartons of eggs is Paulette Fassio, a daughter of Chester Fassio, owner of the business. Granger Poultry Farm Boasts Drive-i- n Egg Stand week, which are gathered from their 13,000 laying hens. "We collect almost 8,500 eggs daily", Chet says. Two regular hired helpers give their aid to this unique business, as well as three ladies who come in each week to help process the eggs. They clean, candle and carton the eggs at a rate of 12 cases an hour. "The eggs are then cooled immediately to keep them fresh for delivery to the various stores in the area", Mr. Fassio explained. is Grading at the drive-i- n done all automatically by machinery, and the eggs are ready for anyone who wishes to visit this "first in Utah" operation. GRANGER Everything has gone automatic! Drive-in- s have become a common sight on the "American scene, from drive-i- n banks to the drive-i- n laundry. Something new has been add ed to this group of late, by an enterprising poultry farmer in Granger. Chester Fassio's poultry farm has been a familiar landmark to many folks during the past 40 years. Started in 1915 by his father, James Fassio, the poultry business has grown steadily, serving many people in Hunter, Magna and kearns. An Interesting idea has now become a reality with the openegg ing of the first drive-i- n stand in the State of Utah. The stand is equipped with a window with a shelf which rolls out to the car, and drivers need not even alight to purchase their weekly egg supply.
