This Is the highest speed at which any student in the Intermountaln territory has written this yeaar. Miss Cannegleter has proved her- iwlf to be an excellent typist, and bas been the staff stenographer at the college for some time. It is hard to visualize a sieed of almost a hundred words minute, or eveu a gross f this amount, but a feet paper at this speed is a really wonderful achievement. , Mbw Cannegieter was the recipient of congratulations from the Faculty and students of the college when the result of the test was announced and the "big hand" was extended by all with best wishes for her success in the business world she is about to enter. Much credit Is due M1ss Rela the Sudbury of the Faculty of Murray High, under whose direction Miss Cannegieter received her preliminary Instruction in stenog raphy and typewriting. 1829-3- i . Treasurer June rs Every possible aid and encouragement should be given the Salt Lake County Commissioners in their efforts in the roadway matter. From the intensity of the accusations of those urging the Airport route, in opposition to the 21st South, it would seem that something is quite "screwy". Why anyone would wish a hasty grabbing of the Airport route or why the State Road Commission is so all powerful, and why so many violently attack the Salt Lake County Commissioners for doing their sworn duty leads to much wondering as to who is paying for the uproar The Salt Lake County Commissioners have evidently saved the people of the county much money from the "Big Interests" and the "Big Interests" now are airing a big sore spot. The continued raving about the Airport route giving so much employment to labor is onlv a poor effort to deceive the people. The labor employed on the roadway would receive a small part only of the million dollars the people would have to pay to the A Show Increase Ik-o- 1 AM-er- hut-terf- The annual church picnic Is being LIlH-itPark on Wednesday afternoon and evening, June 17th. About 90 per cent of the electric power generated In the nation is under the domination and control of four major Interests, which work a common policy together tinder and toward a common end "milking the public," he said. The utilities 'speech was substituted by Pinchot for an address on "timber needs of the future," a topic assigned to hltu by the executive committee of the conference, which had agreed that controversial matters would be banned from discussion. "The power of pubic utilities Is in every manifest political assembly, from the congress of the United States to the smallest town meeting," Pinchot said. the utilities do not "Although dominate the Republican party in Pennsylvania, they do own and operate the party machinery.
