This is called annealing. l!y February, 102S, the 70 Inch disk at the bureau will have cooled sulllclent-lfor the scientists to uncover It. Then they will know whether they have a disk or some pieces of broken glass. Annealing is not always successful. Salt Luke City Contest went through The Fourth Utah Intermountain December iu good shape, considering the very cold weather that prevailed during a good part of the month and that the fact that the birds iu several of the entries were suffering with chicken pox. This disease is undoubtedly going to cause some loss of birds and a marked decrease in production spite of all our efforts to control it. The weather has been good during the past week and the birds are now looking tine, but a change in the weather usually affects the birds in certain stages of Ibis disease rather seriously. The birds made an average production for December of 115.,'i eggs each, which is only a little more than one egg behind last month's record. Entry No. 1. owned by Frank II. Sorensen, moved into first place with a record of 410 eggs for the two months. Two pullets, No. (17 in entry ( owned by Riverbend Farm, and No. M owned by The Wold Poultry Farm, are tied for individual honors with a record of ,rl eggs each. The Imperial Poultry Farm entry won first place for December with a record of 20! eggs and the Kin's Trapnest Leghorn Farm pullet won first place with a record of 2ti eggs for the month of .shortest and coldest days.
