Show 20 Hilitop Times SPORTS" Oct. 18, 199) SPORTS GLANCE Strikers come back strong The Hill Strikers soccer club made up for their last scoreless game and then some as they defeated league rival Iomega Soccer Club 0 Saturday at the South Gate soccer field. It was only a week earlier that the Strikers settled for a tie in a match against another league team, Ogden's Las Aquilas Soccer Club. Last weekend's game started off differently as right halfback Pat Messam early passed the ball to center halfback Paul Kim. Kim then tapped the goal in the net for the score. Striker Rob Kunce scored the second goal of the game with what Coach Ray Uris calls one of his "no angle shots." The other score of the half was by Curt Siegal, who was moved by Coach Uris to center guard. Siegal took a pass from defenseman Dereck Beresford and nailed a shot. In the second half, Kunce again scored by weaving the ball into the top of the far corner of the visitors' goal. Siegal and Stan Sklyarski scored the Strikers' other two goals. This win puts Hill back in second place in their record, two points behind archrival league with a 6-- Azteca, who stands The Strikers next play Oct. 26 against another in league league team.
