They refused to state definite dollars and cents expenditure channels until the issue was forcibly and repeatedly raised by letters to the editor in The Milford Ntws and by Milford Committee for Better Schools circulars (not the alleged Committee for Better Schools mailing- sheet printed in Beaver). They still have not given any guarantees that the Milford program would be any different than it has in the past. They have ignored the suggestion that a group of parents trom the schools concerned accompany the Board of Education on a tour of the school plants to prove or disprove the charge that the Milford schools are far below the physical standards of the Beaver schools. After a visit to the Milford school, with the city Board of Health, the Mayor of Milford was harshly condemned by a board member for daring to make such an inspection. It is our opinion that the tax increase will be rejected, but that it would have been approved by a wide margin if the Board of Education had given satisfactory assurances that the Milford taxpayers would receive an even break on expenditures. 1U.M DOWN ON WASTE 1 Min-trsville- THl'HS., APRIL 22, CITY TO CRACK i Me-Garr- NEWS urer. tributions. The public action allowed our children to attend Holy Week services, as they are taught to attend them. I appreciate this act of good will and understanding and the tolerant attitude with which it was performed. May those in public service be reminded that we are proud and happy to live in a community where religious tolerance is not only preached but practiced. May the Good Lord, continue to bless us all here in Milford, and may His graces flow on us in abundance. My parishioners join me in expressing these grateful sentiments, and we thank you all from the bottom of our hearts.
