Show Editor, Milfard New Recently I had the pleasure -- the --USS-arl --of -Ob civilian guest of the ton as U S Navy. Being familiar with ships and navy life I had an excellent opportunity to study the officers and men responsible tor litr activity, A Miiford man, Thomas F. B:dt eld, seemed to be one of the outstanding men In the ship's company. His work and alt tude and sense of responsibility was such that his shlp--, mates liked and respected him Immensely. Tor thia reason I'm dropping you a note, to indicate that your city should be proud of Bradfield and thankful that his family has prepared him and he has responded so splendidly, to bring real credit upon his home town. In checking the ship's records I found that Bradfield has been In the navy some 1 M years, and aboard the Olsen for about 14 months, Too ofyn the men with clam orous Jobs and high ranks are publicly acclaimed, and that is probably as it should be. But knowing that Bradfield has th admiration of those aboard the Olsen, from their splendid skipper, Lt. Comdr. R. T. Muller, right on down the line, it seems proper that someone, even an ridf L T-- I f Tommy arrived home over the wetk end for a short stay with his parents and friends in The News adds it M'lford "Well Done, Tommy," to Mr Nolan's commendation , It takes many men to operate a naval vmsel. or an army unit, or an air squadron; it takes many ordinary guys, and for a successful operation it take a few extraordinary guys Evidently Tommy is on of the extraordinary ones, , i Htc-taxkU- Sfovo Tips tho Dalanco MOVING Jul UaTittf Haate tats re saendag vat tbe MW totaled at ta stop at Steve aad Afa llsat Market for a pee ad f ft.aatbitrf.tr, "Be t get It free Stets she aai& Why! Editor. Mllford News; 1 HOSPITAL NOTES three summer month Not only was thJa program unpopular .with parents, but with the majority of teachers, t fee! it is not only unfair to the students but unfair to the teachers for so much disruption in classroom work, particularly is this true, of the first grade students in our school who, at the most, are getting only a half day of school. For them there are twelve whole dayt of school mied when time ts so valuable to. get good start. That the children will be ultimately benefited from the class may be true, but at the same time look what they are m'ssing in their present studies, The crux of the matter is, our children are not grtiing that full cltkruvm Unw and benefit to m, tilth they are wntitled.
