G. White. A verjr delicious dinner was served by Mrs. White, after which the business meeting was held, with President Mrs. Kenneth Hollis " t v( I j A ifSn ' presiding. The rest of the afternoon was spent playing bridge. Prizes were won by Mrs. Ronald Banks, Mrs. Leona Smith, a guest from Salt Lake, and Mrs. Glenn Barnes. Mrs. O. R. The Eastern Star sisters prepared the menu which the Eastern Star brothers served with professional skill. The tables were beautifully decorated under the artistic direction of Mrs. Margaret Murdock, Mrs. KJladvs GosdUL and Mrs. Thekla Miller, and added much to the pleasure of the guests during the supper hour. The food was prepared by Mrs. Dora Pool and her extremely efficient committee, and as usual, was most excellent. The regular business session was conducted by Dorothy L. Gale. Worthy Matron, and Hampton C. Burke, Worthy Patron, assisted by tie regular chapter officers. Nine visiting chapters were represented by their respective delegations as they were seated in the chapter room, and were an admiring and interested audience. Mrs. Deason, a most charming and sincere little lady, gave an inspiring spiritual message to the local chapter.' which was The Worthy well received. Grand Patron brought us a lively interlude of wit and humor, ana also a practical suggestion for better living. Others conrtlb-ute- d greetings and appreciations of this special occasion. At the close of the meeting, all went again to the dining room where cake and coffee were served, and the final goodnights which ended a most successful and enjoyable chapter event. Many were the compliments given the officers of Ruth Chapritualter on their istic work, and also on the beautiful appointments of the chapter room. The Worthy Matron and Worthy Patron proved exceptionally fine in their duties as official host and hostess, and their gracious welcomes to the various guests, and their kindly and generous hospitality to everyone exemplified again in a splendid way the true spirit of chapter fraternalism. Mr. and Mrs. Douglas Blackburn and family were dinner guests Sunday at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Ben Cooper of Milford. Mr. and Mrs. Max R. Carter were hosts to Dr. and Mrs. E. N. Davie, Dr. and Mrs. J. E. Mr. and Mrs. Lee Simons, Schiedeman and Arnold Koester of Milford, and Mrs. Lois Pur-so-n of Los Angeles on Wednesday evening, April 15. The evening was spent playing bunco, with Clara Schiedeman and Rosemary Davie winning the prizes. Lovely refreshments were served by Anna Rae. Mr. and Mrs. Rex Marshall, accompanied by Mrs. Wanda Martin, were in Cedar City on Tuesday, where Mr. Martin is confined awaiting medical attention. He suffered another fall several weeks ago and didn't realize the bone in his leg had been broken again. A daughter, Mrs. Louise Hutchings, is also at the hospital recovering from an appendectomy operation. ' Mr. and Mrs. Goldwin Mar shall accompanied by Mr. and Mrs. Moroni Myers and Mr. and Mrs. Obra Myers traveled to Lyman, Wyo., to attend funeral services for Mrs. Eliza Roberts, sister of Mrs. Hattie Myers, who died April 21. The group left on Thursday, spending the first night at Provo. While in Wyoming they were guests of gracious hosts Mr. and Mrs. Paul Cooley. Mrs. Cooley is the former Elva Hall. Mr. and Mrs. Clair Carter en tertained at a family dinner on Wednesday in honor of the birthday of Mrs. Enid Johnson of Milford. Those present were Mr. and Mrs. Stanley McKnight, D. and Mrs. Warren Smith of Beaver, and the Johnsons of Milford. Mrs. John- - serv- - returned to Minersville and began again with the Bradfields. Mr. and Mrs. Harold Baker recently visited Mrs. Amy Baker, who has been seriously ill. Fred Myers observed his ninth birthday Monday and was the recipient of a birthday party and many lovely gifts. Mrs. Carter visited in Tooele with her daughter, Mrs. LaVon Edwards, and family, and Ted Gressman. Norman reported for induction on April 28. This is the fifth son of Mrs. Carter to serve in the armed forces.
