Carlton of Lehi will celebrate her 80th birthday on Saturday, April 24, at an open house hosted by her children at the Lehi Senior Center. All friends and family are invited to visit with her from 2 to 5 p.m. She requests no gifts please. Hazel was born April 29, R. and 1919 to William Elizabeth Ann Porter in Escalante. She spent her childhood and school years there before meeting her future mate, George A. Carlton, who was in the CC Camp at the time. They were married March 21, 1936 in Provo. They lived in Lark and Draper before settling in Lehi. Hazel was employed at the Utah State Training School for several years. She enjoyed taking care of the small bed patients and made many lasting friendships while there.
