Scout, Silver Beaver and the District Award of Merit. His favorite calling in the LDS Church was Scoutmaster. He helped boys attain Eagle rank, including his sons. He served as Quorum Leader and in several bishoprics. He loved golf, backpacking, and hiking and enjoyed playing Softball and and camping with family and scouts. He was always in a hurry and always had to be first, which is why he had to beat all of us to heaven. He is survived by wife, Delta; parents, Hinckley; children: Daniel (Melissa) Nielsen, Lisa, Jill, Joshua, Julie, Tiffany, all of Delta; granddaughter: Kayci; Brothers and Sister: H (Michelle) Nielsen, Delta; Steven Nielsen, Hinckley; Ron (Cindy) Nielsen, Washington; Cyndi (Mike) Robison, Fairview; Kim (Alayna) Nielsen, Oak City. Funeral services were held Friday, August 15 in the Delta Stake Center. Buria! was in the Delta Cemetery. Tommy W Nielsen, 50, died suddenly August 11, 1997 at Delta. He was born July 4, 1947 in Lindon to E. Douglas and Joyce Walker Nielsen. He married C r e n la Johnston June 26,1970 in the Salf. Lake LDS Temple. He was valedictorian in the Pleasant Grove High School Class of 1965; he also served as seminary president. He served an LDS mission to New Zealand. He earned a bachelor's degree in chemical engineering from BYU, where he received top honors. After a few years in Idaho, the family moved to Delta in 1973. He was employed at Brush Wellman for 25 years. He was known as an active scouter and received his Eagle Peck card of thanks express our thanks and gratitude to all who helped in any way at the time of the passing of our husband and father, Dennis Peck. She attended Central Elementary until a serious burning accident ended her formal education. She married Lorenzo Ferris, November 9, 1989 and they lived in Provo, Utah for the past and present ward members who helped in any way. Also a special thanks to Dr. Kerry Welch, Kristy and Cheryl and Kendall for their support during his long illness. We love you all. She was preceded in death by her father Ethan and one brother Richard. Funeral services were held Tuesday, August 19, 1997 in the Olpin Family Mortuary Chapel, Pleasant Grove. Burial was in the Pleasant Grove City Cemetery.
