It will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. in the Alpine 8th Ward (Templeview) chapel, 676 N. 400 West, Eagleview Dr., Alpine. Friends and relatives are invited to attend. They were married April 19, 1945 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Louise was born in American Fork to James and Ethel Brown of Lehi. Calvin was born in Alpine to John and Mamie Whitby of Alpine. Calvin worked for Geneva Steel for 40 years, and retired in 1986. He also worked on the family farm. Louise worked as a secretary before her marriage. Both have been active in the LDS Church. Calvin served as ward clerk for 25 years under 13 bishoprics. Louise has served in the Relief Society and Primary presidencies . III! They have four children: Anna (Mrs. Harry) Manning, and Laura (Mrs. Nephi) Evans, both of American Fork; Wesley (Shirley) Whitby, Springville; and Quint (Terry) Whitby, West Jordan. They have 23 grandchildren and two and taught in many organizations. She also has written and given n. Connie Shiba to be wed to Dr. John K. Kawai Calif. The wedding celebration will be held at the Wasatch Presbyterian Church in Salt Lake City on Saturday, April 22, with a reception afterward at the Red Lion Hotel. Attending the bride will be Rise Shiba as maid of honor, with Dana Peterson as matron of honor, Ann Kawai and Maria Shiba as bridesmaids. Flower girls will be Joni Aoki and Natalie Gikiu and ring boy will be Ryan Sakata.' Serving as groomsmen will be Dean Kawai as best man, and Russel Gee, Chang Liu and Michael Myint. Ushers will be brothers of the bride, Kenny and Scott Shiba. Si. Citizen News Following the broadcast, participants will have approximately one hour to tour Temple Square or the Museum of Art. Reservations must be made by Friday, May 5; the cost will be $3. Transportation to the center is also available. The other trip is an overnight event to see the new Tuacahn facility near Saint George. Corrected dates for the activity are Friday, June 30 and Saturday, July 1. Seniors will depart the center at 9 a.m. and should bring their own picnic lunch. The evening at Tuacahn includes a barbecue and reserved seating for "Utah!" On Saturday, participants may tour the Saint George Temple Visitors Center, and will then travel to Springdale for the showing of "Treasure of the Gods." Plans have not been finalized, but several reservations have already been made. "u f :i Special guests include Ichiro and Toshiko Uyekubo, grandparents of the groom; Toshi Kawai, grandmother of the groom; and Masazo Shiba, grandfather of the bride. Connie was a 1986 graduate of Lehi High School and graduated with a BSN from the University of Utah in 1990. She has been working as a registered nurse on the floor neuroscience at the University of Utah Medical Center and as a drug study coordinator for multiple sclerosis at the Veterans Administration Medical Center. John was a 1990 graduate of UCLA and received his Ph.D. in computer graphics . from the University of Utah in 1994. He is currently working as a research and development engineer for special effects for Digital Domain in Venice, Calif. The couple will make their first home in Los Angeles. Outings being planned for choir, Tuacahn Two special outings are in the plans for Lehi's senior citizens. The first will be a Sunday morning excursion on May 7 to Salt Lake to hear the live broadcast of the Tabernacle Choir.
