Fannie Mae Relaxes company opens Thanks to a recent relaxation of its loan guidelines, the Federal National Mortgage Association (Fannie Mae) has made it a bit easier for renters to apply for their first mortgages. Fannie Mae is the nation's largest source of mortgage funding, so when it emphasizes that a greater degree of flexibility can be exercised with regard to its loan guidelines, It has an effect upon the way that local lenders look at a borrower's ability to qualify for a mortgage.
