Funeral services will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. in the Pleasant Grove Ninth Ward, 400 E. 200 South. Friends may.call Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Olpin Family Mortuary, 500. S: 300 East, Pleasant Grove, or Saturday at the church one hour prior to services. Burial will be in the Pleasant Grove City Cemetery. Pleasant Grove, a daughter of Gustaf and n; Wilhelmina O k e r 1 i n d Oscarson. She married AlRoy Gillman May 20. 1943 in the Salt Lake IDS Temple. She was an active member of the LDS Church living in the Pleasant Grove Ninth Ward. She had served in the auxiliaries of the Church on ward and stake levels. She served a mission in Sweden Lowell Keith Smith, beloved husband, father and friend to all, passed away of natural causes on Feb. 23, 1995 at the age of 74 in his home at f Orem, He was born JuneS, 1920 in American Fork, the son ofJessie and Norman Melissa Marie Boley Smith. He married te a V o n 1 1 Gardner June 5, 1945inSpringville. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. They would have celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in June. He attended school in Lehi, where he excelled in sports, singing and drama. He was on the 1938 Utah All State Basketball Team and was offered a scholarship to the University of Washington for his athletic abilities. He worked for Union Pacific Railroad for several years before obtainingemployed with U.S. Steel Corporation. He enjoyed a long and successful career with U.S. Steel for a period of 32 years, working at various steel mills in Utah, Pennsylvania, Ohio, Indiana and Illinois, before eventually being promoted to vice president in the Chi- cago, Illinois division, He served years, in that ositiono Kipp Dana, County Substance Abuse Prevention Bureau Director, will assist with the program and introduce Trudy Brereyon and Vickie Jousie, who work directly with Pre-NatSubstance Abuse programs. All four speakers are highly qualified and will relate actual cases in our County. David J. Gardner is a current ty drug experts. Commissioner David Gardner will introduce the seminar which will focus on the extent of drug abuse in Utah County, what is now being done about the problem, and what we can do as a group of Republic Women. He was also active in several civic and scouting organizations in the east.. He was a devoted husband, father and friend who touched the lives ofall who came in contact with him. He passed out cookies to neighborhood children who came to visit him and helping those in need, effort andresources to their welfare. He loved spending time with his grandchildren and being a part of their lives. He will be missed by all who knew him in this life. He is survived by his devoted wife, Vontella Smith, Orem; two sons and two daughters: Greg Smith, Chicago, 111:; Brad Smith, Valpraiso, Ind.; Kristie Snowder, Rigby, Idaho; Candy Sorenson, Springville; 16 grandchildren; one brother, Max Smith, Springville.
