Garn Holbrook, veteran Lehi farmer, was honored recently as the 1986 recipient of the Utah Weed achievement Control Association's award. Holbrook was cited as having done an outstanding job in weed control and conservation, including irrigation and water management, soil improvement and weed control. In cooperation with his sons, he has used proper stewardship of the land, and for the past six years has been a district supervisor of the Alpine Soil Conservation District. Holbrook is the longest-servinmember ofthe Alpine Soil Conservation District. He has also been president of the Provo River Water Users Association, secretary of the Utah Cattleman's Association, chairman of the North Utah County Water Conservancy District, and on the board of directors of the Provo Reservoir Water Users Association. For the past six years he has been g, on the Utah County Weed Control Health Board. In each assignment he has encouraged conservation practices, including weed control.
