On June 27 under a full moon, a Motivated house in Castleton burned to the for Med ration ground, then exactly a month later, Interested individuals met on February 13 and March 12 to pursue their interest in gaining skills in again a full moon night, an eight-yearold boy died in a blaze which swept through a small A-frame real estate office at the lower end of the valley. I’ve been curious about the beginnings of our fire department— realized I knew nothing about who owns the firehouse or the property it occupies, and how we came to use it, and why it is on the other side of the creek. I’m sure there are dozens more that you could think of. In Castle Valley there are many people who grow fruit for themselves. Naturally, they don’t want the birds eating all their fruit, so my suggestion is that you create your bird feeding area well away from your orchard. Feed the birds in a small area that you can easily see from a window, so that you can enjoy seeing the birds in the winter. Plant your selections this month, being sure to leave ample open area in the center for feeders and birdbath. Plant a cherry tree for the birds! —Sa11y Rains |
