South Mr. and Mrs. Thayas R. Bray nd daughters LaQueta Ann an J LaRee, recently enjoyed a tour of the southern and eastern states. Enroute they visited the Dinosaur National Monument, then traveled via Denver to Kansas and Oklahoma, passing throush the iloo.l areas in Arkansas. They report the odor of the flood was almost unbearable. In Houlka, Mississippi, an evening was spent in a Bray reunion, visiting with Mr. Bray's relatives, and seeing the countryside where he spent his boyhood. They passed through Birmingham, Alabama and traveled into a corner of Georgia to Chatanooga, Tennessee, where they spent a day on top of famous Lookout Mountain. In Virginia they visited with the former president of the Danville branch, Mr. and Mrs. Leo F. Woodson, and family where Mr. Bray had served on a mission for the L. D. S. church in 1942-4They witnessed a military bur ial at Arlington Cemetery enroute to Fort Monmouth, New Jersey, where they were joined by their son, Darrell, who spent two and one half days with them as they toured Washington D. C and New York City.-Ther- e Darrell left to return to his base, and the family continued up the Hudson River and visited historical points in and near Palmyra. They then' visited Niagara Falls, and spent a day and night on the Canda side, visiting the Welland Locks where oceangoing steamers are lifted 362 feet up to the level of Lake Erie. They passed through Detroit and at Battle Creek, Michigan they visited with Norene Portor, sister of Mrs. Bray, who is on an L.D.S. mission there. They encounteied bad weather as they bypassed Chicago because of the storm, and turned into the teeth of a tornado moving south, however they were able to pass through safely. Mrs. Bray and LaRoe enjoyed a boat ride on the Mississippi, while LaQueta Ann and Mr. Brav had a seaplane ride. They visited Navoo and Carthage, and near Cedar Rapids again narrowly missed the tornado. One of the crowning joys of the entire trip was received when they stopped in Livermore, Iowa, and visited with Cecil Smith and family, and Opal Smith Jones. It was the first time since her adoption into the Bray home that LaQuea Ann had seen her mother Opal, and grandparents, the Smiths. Continuing through flooded they returned home through Wyoming, and report that through the entire trip they were impressed with the courteous friendliness of motorists and police alike through the safe, swift traffic. . 18. . . . ceive his services Wednesday of this week.
