Show r 111 lehi crrrs VOLUME HI LEHI CITY, UTAH, MISSIONARY FAREWELL - A missionary testamonial will bo given in the Seocnd Ward Chapel, Sunday evening, September 30th for Elders Dean Worlton and Bqyd Larsen. who will leave for the mission, home early in October. Dean Worlton has been called to labor in the Swiss-Germmission. Boyd Larsen has been called to the Denmark Mis ion. They will leave for their fields of labor on October 21. The program will be directed by the ward M. I. A. officers and will begin promptly at 7:10 p. m. There will be voluntary contributions at the door and everyone is invited to be present. Biographical Sketch Sister Maria K. Anderson was born the 15th of Ootober, 1849, in Frokarr, Brevik Sockan, Sweden. She was the daughter of Hans Hanson and Lisa Her early childhood was Peterson. spent on her father's farm. She was married to Carl John Anderson, Feb. She was the mother of 2, 1868. children, 3 girls and 5 boys. Tha girls and her baby boy have perceded her in death. Her husband also died at Lehl. January 19, 1901. She was a kind and charitable disposition and her home in Sweden was always open to the missionaries long before she joined the church. The spinning wheel and the looms were her cherished treasure She took great prde in making .the clothes for her children both in sewing and knitting. She left her native land in September, 1893, arriv ing in Pleasant Grove, October 1, 1888, where she lived for three years, coming to Lehi in the fall of 189J. On the 11th of November, 192, she fell, and broke her hip and has has been an in- valid ever since from which she has ounercu more or less, up to tne tlms of her demise. She is survived by four sons Andrew J. and E. H. of Magna; Carl R. of "Lehi," and G. S. Anderson of Norman, Oklahoma; 20 grand children; 6 great-gran- d children to mourn her loss. She had a strong testimony of tha gospel and died peacefully at 6 p, m. September 17. 1934. CHILDREN START BONFIRE CAUSING LOSS OF $1500 Fire which was statred by his two small sons, caused a loss of $1500 worth of hay and barns at the Ferr Beck ranch in Highland, Thursday afernoon. The boys had statred a bonfire in the cow barn, which had a board floor, and before it had been noticed by the father, all barns were abaze. Lehi and American Fork fire departments both answered a hurried call but were hindered by lack of water. Adjoining buildings were saved by the use of the fire hose. The fire burned about 20 tons of alfalfa, 10 tons of straw and a cow-barand horse shed. J The convention business was completed at 8 o'clock, starting at 10:30 a. m. The convention was attended by Senator William H. King and RepreState sentative J. Will Roblson Mrs. Frank. Penrose; Chairwoman Mrs. B. W. Musser, state senatoiy and Mrs. Scott Stewart, state committee-woma- n were present during the afternoon session. Senaor Knig greeted the convention and stated that he hoped to have the opportunity of meeting many Democrats in the coming campaign and also many Republicans who should learn the truth. He recalled hs first Democratic address in the old Lehi Opera house, years back, when the first Democratic vote for the whole state only numbeerd 1100, few more than was then present.
