Show The Leader CANCER CHAIRMEN FETED AT DINNER A buffet dinner was held Wednesday evening for area chairmen of the American Cancer Society at the home of Mrs. George C. Ficklin in Tremonton. The area chairmen is a new program being used by the cancer society. The purpose of the program is to have one chairman for each community or city who aids and teaches his fellow citizens to become aware of cancer symptoms in order to save lives. Highlights of the evening were the discussion of the new program by Mrs. Raymond J. Dunn, the services and dressings available to the people of this area discussed by Mrs. Wallace Anderson, chairman of B. E. County, and a film on cancer shown by Dr. Tremonlon. Bone entertained at a "tea" at her home in East Tremonton Friday. Over ninety guests were served with the help of Mrs. Clyde Morris and Mrs. Wade Ebeling. The convention ENJOY VACATION Mr. and Mrs. Harry Drew of Tremonton recently returned home from a vacation trip in which they covered over 2000 miles. The Drews were accompanied by Mr. and Mrs. Julian Heppler of Berkeley. Calif. The two couples toured Southern Utah. Colorado. Arizona, and New Mexico. Lake Powell, Glen Canyon, and Page, Ariz. out- FUN CLUB PARTY HELD Members of the Fun Club were entertained at a Halloween party at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Albert Bessinger Saturday night. Dinner was served to ten couples at attractively decorated small tables, and games were the diversion of the evening. Prizes were won by Deane Hammon i .md Wynn Henrie. The committee on arrangements included Lela Doutre, Faye Bessinger. Nedra Brown and Edith Timothy. which they arc celebrating this year and the election of county officers. FAMILY DINNER PARTY HELD Mr. and Mrs. Fred Grover entertained Friday evening at a family dinner party at which all of their family were present. The party was held in honor of Mr. and Mrs. Bud who left Grover and family Sunday morning for Richland, Wash., where they will be residing. ENTERTAIN HOUSEGUESTS Sunday Mr. and Mrs. James E. Walton of Tremonton had as their dinner guests their son and his family, Mr. and Mrs.' James C. Walton of Ogden and their granddaughter and husband, Mr. and Mrs. Kolxrt Prows, also of Ogden. The dinner was in honor of Mr. Walton's birthday. Visiting recently in Salt Lake City and Bountiful with their children were Arvella Stark and Mrs. Brooks Shuman. Mr. and Mrs. Glen Nelson of Denver, Colo. SIMADA CLUB STARTS YEARS PROGRAM think Most students their learning is over when they get out of school, but that is not so. A group of local women of Tremonton have formed a club to institute further learning. The name of this club is Simada, which means through mutual appreciation and individual activities. "Art through the Ages" is the subject being studied this year. The Simada Club meets monthly. Their first meeting of the year was held at the home of Mrs. Katheryn Nessen. Mrs. Elva Korth and Mrs. Glenna Hales gave the lesson entitled "The Beginning of Man's Interest in Art." The second meeting of the Simada Club was held at Mrs. EJva Korth's home. The lesson, taking up all great painting, was given by Mrs. Nessen and the life story of Piccasso was told by Mrs. Phyllis Mark-ha- e - ., I S" f 1, ' nnattiagS Miss Martha Seat Gail Anger Will Claim Pay son Girl As Bride in Early December Rites Payson High School. She attended the Utah State University. Mr. Anger is a graduate of Bear River High school and Utah State University. He is a member of Thi Kappa Phi National Honorary Scholastic a Fraternity. He completed mission for the L.D.S. Church in the Central Atlantic States. He was with the U. S. Army at Brea, California and Germany for three years. Following their marriage they will make their home in Salt Lake City where Mr. Anger will continue his work as an Internal Revenue Agent and the new Mrs. Anger will continue her work at the Genealogical Church office. Mr. and Mrs. Payson announce John Seat of the engagement and approacning marriage of tneir daughter, Martha t.Marty to Gail Anger. The prospective bridegroom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Anger of Fielding. The couple has set Dec. 3rd as the date of their marriage which will be solemnized in the Salt Lake L.D.S. Temple.
