July 7. 1955 RIVERSIDE DUP Gives Program a THE LEADER. Sunday evening undr the direction of Capt. Essie Peterson. A poem, "They Came With Song", was read by Mrs. Peterson. A History of John August Larson, early pioneer to Utah, Bear River City and East Garland written by Rhoda L. DeLong was read by Louise O. Davis. A vocal duet, "The Ramparts We Watch", was sung by LaVona GroveV and Hazel Riser. Speaker was Warren E. Hansen. Mrs. David Cook and daughters Louise Simpson and June Briggs visited at the Wendell Hansen home Saturday. Mr. and Mrs. David Larson, Mrs. Marie Olsen and daughter, Barbara of California visited at the Warren Hansen home Friday. The Hansens visited the Dick JulandeTS at Ogden Thursday night. Mrs. Edna Larson and Betty of Salt Lake City spent the weekend at home. Mrs. L. M. Holman spent Monday afternoon with them. Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Archibald and family of Ogden spent the weekend at the Joe Oyler home. On the 4th the entire family gathered there for an outdoor luncheon and spent the afternooni. , Mr. and Mrs. L. M. Holman were Salt Lake City visitors .Friday. Mr. and Mrs. Ed Phillips of Idaho Falls and Mr. and Mrs. Alpheus Johnson of Beaver Dam called on the Holmans Friday. The men are all old Australian missionary friends. In the evening the group called on other Australian friends at Tremon-ton- . Mr. and Mrs. Golden, Adams and family went to Salt Lake City this week and brought Carlos Pack back with them. Mr. and Mrs. Lee Isaacson of Ogden visited relatives here on Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Voyd Dahle of Salmon, Ida., visited Mrs. Jane Isaacson and took her to Brig-haCity for dinner Sunday. They also visited Mr. and Mrs. John Isaacson at Mantua. Delos Adams, Ardes and Max-in- e visited relatives in Ogden on the Fourth. Mrs. Wayne Grover has had her sister Janet with her for a week. Her folks came for her Monday. Mr. and Mrs. Lenn Jones of Logan visited relatives at the Roy Atkinson home Sunday evening. Roger Oyler who has been with Mr. and Mrs. Roy Oyler Jr. in Idaho, returned home Wednesday with Grant, Mary and Bruce Korth and Allen and David Oyler. Mary is at the Jasper Shaffer home and the boys with relatives in Tremon ton Mr. and Mrs. Roy Oyler Jr. came for Allen and David Fri- m FEMALE MERCURY Fleetfooted Mrs. P. Perkins is one woman who doesn't have to worry about male wolves. She can outrun most of them. Mrs. Perkins is pictured' winning the team race in the Ladies Inter-Clu- b Athletic Meet at London, England. Her time of 11 minutes, 27.2 seconds set a new world record for the distance and bettered her former record of 11 minutes, 28 two-mi- le day. Mr. and Mrs. Fred Peterson had as Sunday guests Mr. and Mrs. Mitchell Hess of Plymouth and Mr. and Mrs. Darrell Hansen of Salt Lake City. Mrs. Frances Allen is spending a few days at the Henry , Sorensen home. Mr. and Mrs. Sidney Sorensen and family attended the Christ-ense- n family reunion at the Perry Park Saturday. Mr. and Mrs. Harmon Pierson went to Salt Lake City Thursday afternoon to meet Judy who had spent several weeks with relatives in California. She was accompanied home by Betty Poulson of Yuba City. They took Miss Poulson to Logan Friday where she was met by her grandparents of Montpelier, Ida. Mr. and Mrs. Carl Potter and small son of Denver came Wednesday to visit their parents, Mr. and Mrs. R. J. Potter. They went to Salt Lake City Monday and returned to Denver Tuesday. Eph Peterson enjoyed a three day fishing trip with Will Jen-so- n of Garland at Clear Creek the latter part of the week. Mr. and Mrs. 'Ross Rhodes and family and Mrs. Ruby Niel-so- n spent the Fourth on a picnic in Logan Canyon. Mrs. Ursel Rhodes, Vaughn and Nadine visited at- Bountiful with Mr. and Mrs. Lyn Larson and other relatives at Syracuse. . CALLED TO KANSAS W. A. Adams left early Mon- day morning for Washington, Kansas, where he will be with Mr. and Mrs. Hugh Brann. He was called to Kansas because of the illness of Mr. Brann. Get-to-geth- r Mr. and Mrs. Roy Bonrer (Ruth Qavis) and family from the East Coast are visiting for a few days with Mr. and Mrs. Jesse Davis. During their visit other members of the family came home and there has been a real family reunion with Mr. and Mrs. Alten Davis and children of Calif., the only members not here at this writing. Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Davis and children of Provo, Mrs. Melva King and family of Loa, Mr. and Mrs. Roy Davis and family of Salt Lake City, Mr. and Mrs. Don Davis and daughters of Davis Pauline and who Brigham is employed in Salt Lake City were all home for the long weekend. It is certainly a happy time when the family gathers after it has been separated for some time. Greetings. Mr. and Mrs. Eill Silvester and sons who are in Rigby, Ida., this summer came home for the long weekend. Their family came from various part of the state to be with them. Mr. and Mrs. Ray Justisen and children (Peggy) came from Carey, Ida., and Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Silvester of Ogden and Sandra Silvester who is nursing in Provo are spending some time here at the family home.
