July 30, 1953 ATTEND GILES REUNION Local people who attended the Giles reunion at Lorin Farr Park in Ogden Sunday were the Reed Giles, Mike Giles, Sam Kays and Ray Boltons and their families. They were joined by Mr. and Mrs. Porter Giles of Ogden, Mr. and Mrs. L. A. Giles of Morgan and Mr. and Mrs. Charles Turner of Burbank, California. Mrs. Verona Arbon and children visited in Holbrook, Idaho Sunday. They visited with Mr. and Mrs. Merrill Durfee and daughter from Los Angeles, California who are vacationing in Utah. Beverly Nelson ?p?nt the weekend in Salt Lake City. Mr. and Mrs. J. W. Larkin come home from San Diego, California. J. W. is having a 25 dav furlough. He is with the Summer Party The annual summer party of the Tremoton Women's Civic Oak Cafe. Visitors Honored A party was held Wednesday evening at the Joe Holland home in honor of their guest, Mrs. J. W. George of John and Mrs. Aberdeen, Adams of Middletown, Ohio. Friends and relatives attended and enjoyed a Pot Luck supper together. Attending the bride were on June 26th in the Salt Lake LDS Temple, with Clifford E. Miss Lonnie Jarrell as maid of Young officiating. Following the service, the young couple were feted at a wedding breakfast at the Temple Square Hotel, given by the groom's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Arch D. Showell. Their home in Tremonton also provided the setting for a reception in honor of the newlyweds the same evening. New Mrs. Showell is a daughter of Calvin Waldron of Wilmington, North Carolina, a former resident of Thatcher. The bride was lovely in a ballerina length gown of lace and net over satin. A moulded bodice of lace and scalloped lace, edged with pleated nylon and dotted with seed pearls held her fingertip veil. White roses and lily of the valley circled honor, Dorothy Petersen and Bonnie Raby and Mrs. James O. Mason. They wore identical melon taffeta and of gowns carried bouquets of pink roses and white carnations. Dale Showell, brother of the bridegroom assumed the duties of best man, and ushers were Owen Cannon. Eddie Krey, and Virgil Waldron. REDUCING MISS SHARON FUHRIMAN BECOMES BRIDE OF RICHARD UDY JUNE 24 Miss Sharon Fuhriman daughter of Mr. and Mrs. D. A. Fuhriman became the bride of Richard Udy. son of Mr. and Mrs. Glenn Udy of Riverside on June 24th at the Logan Temple. The rites in which rings were exchanged were performed by President George Raymond, and a wedding breakfast at the Bluebird, honored the young couple after the ceremony. Places were laid for the families and close friends. For her wedding and reception- the bride chose a brocaded satin gown with a yoke of tulle trimmed with appliqued lace and outlined with tiny crystals and seed pearls. A high stand-ucollar accented the neckline, and long pointed sleeves came to points over her wrists. Seed pearls and crystals outlined the scalloped skirt front. A fingertip veil of tulle was trimmed with matching applique and held in place by a tiny seed trimmed crown. She carried an orchid bouquet circled with rosebuds. In the receiving line with the newlyweds were their parents, Miss Gayle Nessen as maid of honor, Lorna Fuhriman, Colleen Monette Anderson, and Udy, Carol Larson as bridesmaids. Assuming duties of best man for the groom was Roy A. Palmer. Ushers were Earl Fuhriman and Delos Udy. Kayla Kerr registered the guests, and the gifts were handled by Jessie Miller, Sue Manning, Gay Bradford Anderson, and Carol Green. Guests were served refreshments from small tables placed around the hall and attractively decorated. Assisting with the serving were Sheril Anderson. Verlyn Summers, Corleigh Didrickson, Terry Heaton, Clarice Skinner, Gloria Stenquist and Ila Baker. Assisting in the Kitchen were Margaret Thomas and Fern Kunz. Music played by Mrs. Walker on the organ was heard throughout the building. The couple are now making a home in Riverside. SISTER VISITS MRS. LAUB IS EASY! Mrs. J. H.
