Which means it helps Beavers economy. (Maybe we can get some sidewalks). Has anyone noticed how few businesses are left on downtown main in Beaver? Does anyone care? Something is needed to help bring in tourism. Or, should we just let Beaver die ' because nobody wants it to grow. Well folk's, change is inevitable, either we help Beaver grow or watch Beaver turn into a ghost town. I'm getting old so its been awhile since was in school, but thought that Independence Day the 4th of July, was a day our Fore Fathers set aside to celebrate our Independence from England. November 11th Veterans Day was declared a day to have the honor our veterans. and admiration greatest respect for all of them. But then my hero, my dad, is a WWII Veteran of the Pacific on Okinawa. The meeting commenced at 4:00 p.m. The following Council Members were present: Mayor Leonard Foster, City Council Members; Kari Draper, Connie Fails, Craig Wright, Gordon Roberts and Chris Smith. Also present at the meeting: City Recorder Hal Lessing and City Manager Steve Atkin. Mayor Foster conducted the meeting. CITY COUNCIL MINUTES APPROVED: The previous Council Meeting minutes were read by City Recorder Lessing, after review by the City Council, Council Member Draper moved, Council Member Fails 2nd, Beaver City Council approve the City Council Meeting Minutes of March 11, 2008 with the following corrections: Property was purchased from Title First rather than Bryan Harris. All voted in favor of the motion. Motion carried by a unanimous vote. Bills were BILL APPROVAL: and presented approved for payment. He is an adjacent property owner. Tony Fusco of the planning and zoning explained the planning and zoning's position of supporting the project. City Manager Atkin explained that spot zoning has been eliminated in the new state land use statute and adjacent property owners need not have written notice. Nick Faulkner could see a problem if all were approved and built at once and then a portion became vacant. Mr. Bradshaw explained that He is still going to continue to farm and spread manure, spray etc. Mr. Chang explained that He understands farm use; accepts and will have residents sign that the farming can continue. Council Member Wright 2nd, Beaver City Council move into closed session at 9:42 p.m. to discuss the character, professional competence or physical health, or mental health of an individual or individuals. By voice vote Member Council Roberts, Wright, Draper, Fails and Smith voted to go into closed session. The City Recorder and City Manager were excused after the first portion of the closed session.
