Proclamation to the Citizens of Beaver City A City Ciean-U- p Campaign The Mayor and City Council hereby declare that the Year of 2001 will be the year of a "Cleaner Beaver." The world is coming to Utah ine few months for the '2002 Olympics and Beaver City will be having its own special events leading up to the Olympics. Our summer will be packed with events like Memorial Day, July 4th, the Butch Cassidy Festival, the 24th of July and the hosting of the Special Olympics just one week before the Olympics. Thousands of peopie will be on the move for these events and many will have the opportunity to see Beaver and Southern Utah. As part of the "Clean Beaver" campaign, the Mayor and City Council invites and encourage everyone to look at your property and surroundings and to make a concerted effort to clean Beaver up. May will be the first general cleanup day, with the City and County picking up trash and debris placed out on the city streets. The City will continue the campaign by cleaning up specific problem areas. A second general cleanup day will be 2001 . held September Beaver City will pick up all trash, excepting tires and batteries, placed on the shoulder of the road, and will, when requested and a waiver signed, and on a basis, pick up debris on private proper- -' Please remember that it ty. does NOT cost anything to take yard waste to the landfill at anytime, and if you already have it loaded, then taking it to the landfill is much more efficient than dumping it on the street and making the City pick the trash up again. Also, Beaver City will be mowing street edges beginning in late April and needs everything removed from the streets. All cars, farm equipment or other items left on the street will be subject to towing, being impounded, and the owner billed for their removal. case-by-ca- se sJames E.
