Show Beet Harvest Starts In Vallev" This Week Bear River SlatesAnnual Homecoming Harvesting of sugar beets in the Garland factory district began Thursday, with beets being delivered to several of the larger stations according to Orson Christensen, district manager of the Utah-Idah- o Sugar company. Plans are to harvest enough beets daily, about 2000 tons, to keep the factory operating "at capacity until the entire crop is ready to start the harvest in earnest. Due to the present storm, cut. ting at the factory has been delayed until Tuesday, October 4, at the earliest. It is expected that 250 men will be employed to operate the factory three shifts each day.
