I 0etJ?JROSE AL- AN - Thursday, March 24, 1949 Arrangements have been made with Mr. and Mrs. Walter Chamberlain of Crystal Springs by the Stake Presidents of the various stakes in the Northern Utah Region to conduct the Saturday night dances through the summer season. The Bear River Stake M.I.A. will conduct the opening dance on Saturday, April 2, and the other stake organizations of the region will be responsible for other dances to follow. The management of the resort has agreed to make a change in policy, allowing no sale of to bacco or beer and no use of liquor at the dance hall. BIRTHDAY PENNEY DRIVE NETS $1225.00 FOR PRIMARY CHILDREN'S HOSPITAL Mrs. Inez Brown, president of the Bear River Stake Primary has announced this week that the Birthday Penney drive held during the month of February has reached a successful con- - clusion. The nineteen ward Primaries collected a total of $1225 which has been turned over to the Primary Children's hospital. Mrs. Brown and her coworkers wish to thank all the ward workers and contributors who assisted in this worthwhile project. d t i ELDER DARWIN HANSEN Darwin Hansen To Serve In Western Canada Mrs. John O. Oyler Follows Husband In Death Mrs. Minerva Jane Bingham Oyler, 88, died Thurday morning at 3 a. m., at the family home la Garland after a long illness. Her husband, John O. Oyler preceded her in death a little over a week ago, having passed away March 13th. , She was born September 22, 1862 at Payson, a daughter of Jeremiah and Minerva Dixon, Bingham, and was reared in Payson. She married John Oyler in the Salt Lake Endowment house, August 2i 1879. They moved to Burrville in 1895, to East Garland in 1902, to Salt Lake in 1917 and back to Gar land in 1939. Mrs. Oyler was a counsellor In the East Garland Relief Society for eight years, and a Relief So ciety teacher in East Garland and Yale Ward, Salt Lake City. She is survived by the follow ing sons and daughters, Mrs. Clara Capener, Garland, John O., Leo, LeRoy, Joseph of East Garland, Henry Oyler, Tremonton; Mrs. Lenora Lewis and William Oyler of Ogden; Mrs. Virginia Birkeland, Salt Lake City. Sixty-e- ight Darwin Hansen, son of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph E. Hansen, and a former member of the' Elwood and Tremonton First wards, has been called to serve in the West ern Canadian mission. He is now a member of the Wells ward, of the Nevada Humbolt stake, where a social and dance will honor him Friday evening. He will leave for the mission home on April 11.
