By Miss Annie Hurd :s: Mr. and Mrs. Charles Boshardt and granddaughter, of Magna, and Mr. and Mrs. Carl Thomas and daughter of Salt Lake City were Sunday guests of Mrs. S. C. Sorensen The Misses Eva and Ardes Adams, Rhoda Larson and Louise Atkinson attended county teacher's institute in Brigham City, Thursday and Friday. The Misses Adams and Larson are teaching in the Garland school and Miss Atkinson is placed at Collinston. After the nipping frosts of the past few days is makes one feel that fall is fast approaching. Monday morning the school busses were again filled with children returning to school, another reminder of fall. . Sidney Sorensen and Fred Somers went to Mackay, Idaho, Friday, where they visited with Mr. and Mrs. Ed Sorensen, returning Tuesday. Mrs. John Payne, daughter Virginia, and son, Junior, of Heyburn, Idaho, were Wednesday, Thursday and Friday guests of Mr. and Mrs. David Larson. J. W. Rhodes, son Ursel and Joseph Oyler left Monday morning for Logan canyon where they expect to get out a load of logs. Mrs. Ruel Nielsen and children, of Idaho Falls, returned after several weeks visit with relatives here. Friday marked a very pleasant day for Mrs. Mary Sorensen when her ten living children met at her home in a family gathering. A good social time was enjoyed and a family group picture was taken. Eight of the children reside here. The oldest son, Edwin, and the oldest daughter, Mrs. Wynn Lewis, are residents of Idaho, but Ed is expected to move back to Bear River Valley this fall. Marion Sorensen accompanied his brother and sister to Mackay, Idaho, Friday for several days visit Mr. and Mrs. Harold Wise and the Misses Grace and Wanda Wise of Ogden, were week end guests of Mr. and Mrs. Lafayette Grover. Mr. and Mrs. Grover and daughter, Hazel, motored to Ogden with the Misses Grace and Wanda, on Sunday, returning in the evening. First place in the heavy weight horse pulling contest at the county fair, was won by Floyd Adams' team. Mr. Adams can well be proud of his team, also the .award, a splendid harness. Many prizes and ribbons were Won by other residents of this community. Mr. and Mrs. Alva Rhodes visited with his parents at Lehi on Labor Dayv They returned home Tuesday after attending to business in Salt Lake City. Mr. and Mrs. Tom White and children, of Ogden, are guests of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. W. Rhodes. W. A. Adams and J. W. Mr. and Mrs. Fred Coxey of Ogden, were week end guests of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. E. J. Robbins. Mr. and Mrs. Roy Showell attended the county fair at Tremonton, Saturday. Mr. and Mrs. DeLamar Cutler, Mrs. Rebecca N. Cutler and Miss Beth Allen were Brigham and Ogden visitors last week. Miss Edna Fredrickson, motoring with friends from Pennsylvania to California, last week, stopped over for a visit with Miss Sarah Larkin. Mr .and Mrs. Golden Peterson spent the week end with her mother, Mrs. P. M. Iverson at Bear River City. Mrs. Ernest Shaw and son and daughter were week end guests of her mother, Mrs. Lerona Vanderhoof. Jos. J. Cutler and daughters, Cleo and Wanda, visited relatives in Brig. ham School opened here Monday morning. The teachers are Max B. Ferguson, Vernell Peterson and Lois Christensan. Miss Blanche Arbon is at home again after spending part of the summer with her sister in Ogden. Miss Lucile Arbon returned to her work in Ogden .after spending a few weeks here due to the illness of her mother. Mr. and Mrs. Jesse Reeder and daughter of Brigham, called on Wm Hurd Sunday. ; Mr. and Mrs. Chas. Peterson took their son, Lavor, to Tremonton last week where Dr. Schaffer removed his tonsils. Winder (right) was a charter member of the first board in 1856, serving until 1901 when he was succeeded by his son, William C Winder, who is till serving today. The elder Winder was president of the organiza tion for 11 years and the younger Winder for 14. William C. Winder holds that eminent position today. That the City Recorder is hereby made inspector of any and all fruits or vegetables peddled or delivered directly to any consumer within the corporate limits of Tremonton City. That said City Recorder is authorized to incur in the name of the city, any and all necessary expense by way of obtaining chemical analysis, expert opinion on diseased fruit, and any other items in connection with making this ordinance effectual. That said City Recorder shall collect for the inspection of each load, the sum of five dollars dollars ($5.00) to twenty-fiv- e ($25.00), same to be covered in to the City Treasury. 2. Any person desiring to peddle or deliver fruit or vegetables direct with in the corporate limits of Tremonton City shall first submit said fruit or vegetables to be so delivered, to the HOWELL ! Johnson, in honor of Miss Gayle Jensen. The af ternoon was spent in sewing and so cial conversation. At six o'clock a hot dinner was served to twelve guests. Clara, the twelve year old daugh ter of Mr. and Mrs. Rast Petersen, is confined to her bed, suffering with in fection in her right leg. Mr. and Mrs. Golden Petersen and family of Snowville, spent the week end visiting with relatives in this city. Miss Gayle Jensen entertained at a card party at her home, Monday even ing. Twenty guests were present and at eleven o'clock light refreshments were served. Joseph Huggins of this city, is the proud owner of a new set of harness which he won at the county fair in Tremonton, Friday evening in the pulling contest Miss Vernell Petersen left Sunday for Snowville where she will teach school this season. Schaffer was the speaker and Mrs. Schaffer ren dered two scotch solos. Mrs. W. O. Winters gave a piano solo. Mr. Winters accompanied them here. The program was much appreciated by the people of this ward. Our schools opened for work Monday morning with Miss Leora Peters as teacher of the Primary grades and Mr. Lorin Peterson as principal. All ordinances and parts of ordinances relating to peddling, in conflict herewith, are hereby repealed. 5. , This ordinance shall take effect upon publication.
