Mrs. Ethel Jensen and son, Ariel with relavisited over the week-en- d tives at Deweyville. Tuesday afternoon, a social was held at the ward hall under the auspices of the Relief Society. A short program was rendered as follows, "A comparison of the first Relief Society, with that of today," Amelia Anderson; song, Pres. Ida Peterson; Christmas story, Mary Anderson; sons, Lura Ray; "Sense and Nonsense", Elizabeth Wight; reading, Rosella Anderson; and remarks, by Bishop Wight. A tilicious tray lunch was then served. Georpre O. Nye and Mabel Chambers of the M. I. A. Stake board, attended our meeting Tuesday evening for the purpose of filling some vacancies in the presidency, of both organizations. Fossie Nelson was released as counselor and Francessa Wight as secretary. Lurilla Diderickson was chosen as counselor and Lois Watt, Secretary, of the Y. L. M. I. A. Lisle Adams was released as 2nd counselor in the Y. M. M. I. A. and Weslie Dunn was Lolita chosen to take his place. Hodges and Rosella Anderson were sustained as class leaders. -!- - East Garland Elder David Isaacson returned Fri- day from having filled a mission in the Western States. He is looking well and feeling fine. , At sacrament meeting Sunday evening the house was well filled with friends and relatives who were glad to welcome the newly returned missionary and to hear him speak. He was followed by Elder Douglas Oyler, who also gave interesting missionary experiences. Mr. Joseph Smith, who has been tuning pianos in our community, gave some splendid piano selections., and Miss Neta Adams very sweetly sang a Christmas song. Altogether the service was very much enjoyed by the audience. Most of the High School boys and girls enjoyed a jolly bonfire and skat, ing party on the large slough near the home of Glen and Marie Larson, Thursday of last week. The boys kept a huge bonfire, on the hill side, which lighted the ice pond and the girls furnished home made candy, which all did full justice to. Mr. and Mrs. W. E. Hansen and Mrs. Julia M. Steed were calling on relatives here Monday. Mrs. David Larson returned to Logan with them in the evening to visit for a few days. Sunday afternoon guests of Mr. and Mrs. I. L. Isaacson were Mr. and Mrs. Lee Isaacson and little son of Garland; Mr. and Mrs. John Isaacson and baby from Honeyville. Mr. and Mrs. Ed Isaacson and children, were supper guests at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Roy Bean, of Brigham Monday, evening. Mr. and Mrs. L. M. Holman and Mr. and Mrs. Carl Larson went to Ogden Saturday last to see Santa Claus and to attend a show. Mrs. J. W. Larson is visiting with her daughter, Mrs. Eric Northman of Garland. Bear River City Deweyville Mr. and Mrs. 0. G. Harwood and children of Ogden visited their parents Mr. and Mrs. Peter Jensen and grand, father, Chris Jensen, all of this place, Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Gene Levitte and little son returned to their home at Blue Creek, Saturday after spending a very pleasant week with relatives in Deweyville. They were the guests of their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Dewey, and Mr. and Mrs. Alvin Noor while here. Mr. and Mrs. Vern Hazel of Twin Falls, Idaho, are visiting their grandmother, Mrs. John Eckley, of this place, for four weeks. Mr. Hazel is employed at Tremonton. Mrs. Walter Hansen, who was operated on some time ago at the Dee hospital in Ogden, was brought home (Sunday, and is feeling as good as can be expected. Mr. and Mrs. Dave Petersen, of Salt Lake City, were calling on relatievs adn friends in this city on Sunday. ' ne Tuesday, club meetings were held. Mr. Nye has organized a music club, and those who have taken music or those who are taking it now, support Mr. Nye in this club. December in Wednesday, 11, assembly the Dramatic Club gave a one act play, which was very humorous. The characters were: Iva Wilcox, Milton Anderson, Rhea Wood. Lucile Oyler Marjorie Stokes, and Odessa Wyatt The band also rendered two selections under the direction of Mr. Nye. It has been decided by the faculty to hold meetings and assemblies only on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. This will give us one hour a week for study, which will help. The reason for this is the losing of interest by the students for the assemblies. Club. It caused a great deal of laughing from the students. Following that a dance was given by eight of the boys, dressed in girls clothes. Joe Kirkham sang, "Am I Blue." Then a short one act play was given by more of the club boys, representing the club court and the punishment received by the boys who failed to announce the dance to be held that night. Rose, who left Sunday, December 8th for the Eastern States, where he will serve a six months mission for the L. D. S. church. The program began at 8 P. M. with Leon P. Jensen in charge. Sunday afternoon, Mrs. Christian Zinck entertained in honor of her daughter Wilma's 12th birthday. During afternoon games were played, after which a delicious tray luncheon was served to Wilma Zinck, the honored guest ,and to Hope Christensen, Arva Dallin, LoVoy Elwell, Ruth Bent, Wanda Weidman, Elieda Jensen, Loraine Holmgren, and to Norman Andersen, Percy Brailsford, Bobby Archibald, Earl Petersen, Barrell Gardner and Clinton Johnson. Last Tueday evening, the following Bee Hive girls, Evelyn Thorsen, Emerine Christensen, Afton Hansen, Elaine Jensen, Charlotte Andersen, Maurine Checketts and their class leaders, Mrs. Ida Christensen and Mrs. Andrea Hansen, all took lunch and went to the home of Mrs. Amanda Jensen, who was the bee hive teacher last year and gave her a very pleasant surprise, during the evening, games were played after which, a delicious lunch was served.
