Inside, the Evans Collection of combat flying equipment and uniforms portrays Air Force history from its beginnings. Aircraft featured at museum The Hill Aerospace Museum preserves heritage and tradition by collecting, restoring and displaying historically significant artifacts related to U.S. Air Force history in Utah. IYoviding an entertaining and educational setting where guests can learn the history, (unctions, and mission of the U.S. Air Force. Free of charge the museum is open to the public daily from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., except Thanksgiving. Christmas and New Year's Day. The museum is home to the Utah Aviator's Hall of Fame and the 43,(KX) Fighter square foot "Iindquist-Stewart- " Gallery, housing 18 aircraft. The museum displays more than 60 static aircraft and a variety of artifacts and displays including vintage uniforms and helmets, models, missiles, landing gear and artwork. 50-acr- e Aircraft on display include vintage World War II aircraft including a Mustang, P-5- 1 B-1- 7 Flying Fortress, and 5 Marauder made famous by Col. James Doolittle's raid over Tokyo, along with modern flyers such 15-2- as the Eagle, Warthog and the Blackbird. A supersonic spy plane wide variety of helicopters, biplanes, and unmanned aircraft also await visitors' inspection. A restored World War II chapel has been relocated to the museum grounds and features a commemorative stained-glas- s window. Monuments on the grounds honor flying units and Air Force Medal of Honor recipients. The museum also hosts "Airplane Talk" on Saturdays from October through April, where local aviators come and talk of their with specific aircraft and situations. These highly informative discussions provide patrons with an opportunity to hear accounts of historical events.
