Show niE HELPER JOURNAL Ky MARION BONACCI GLORIA MARTELLE HONORED AT BIRTHDAY PARTY Little Miss Gloria Martelle celebrated her second birthday anniversary on Thursday afternoon by having fifteen of her little friends come in end play with her. Games, singing and dancing were the pastimes of the afternoon after which a dainty luncheon was served by her mother Mrs. Vic Martelle, as- sissted by Miss Ang Martelle. The little hostess was the recipient of many beautiful gifts. Those called in were Misses Lois May Spratling, Shirley Spears, Barbara Whitmore, Barbara Johnson, Andrea Whitaker, Corinda Perry, Raymond Teloroli, Donna Rose and Jimmy Miner, Ruth Barbara Clerico, Bert Dart, Blake Martelle, Yvonne McAllister, Alberta Leo, and Mrs. A. Fisher entertained at a prettily arranged bridge luncheon at her home Tuesday afternoon. The luncheon was served at 1:30 with Valentine place cards and favors serving to help carry out the. motif. Covers were laid for Mesdames Al!en Browne, R. I. Erockbank, F. F. Gibson, M. Bliss, T. Weten-kamBunnel, Howtll, Stolker, Harding, Olsen and Vaught of Price; Jack Jonys and C. Ward of Castle Gate; Frank Porter, H. and Taylor of Helper. Prizes for points and honors were awarded to Mrs. Browne and Mrs. Bunnel of Price. p, er VALENTINE DINNER AT SPRATLING HOME Miss Juanna Buchanan, assisted by her sister Mrs. George Sprat-linentertained at a prettily appointed valentine dinner and bridge party at the home of the latter last Wednesday evening. Bridge was enjoyed during the fore part of the evening with the dainty dinner following, carried out in red and white suggestive of Valentine day. Jig saw puzzles brought the evening to a close. Present with the hostesses were Mrs. Leah Peterson and the Misses Mary Ricci, Mary Llewellyn, Mary Hughes, Mary McConnell, Thelma Rask, Bernice Kelley, Jay Turnbow, Jean Mallakar, and Dor othy Wilson. g, THOMAS MIGLIACCIO COMPLIMENTED Thomas Migliaccio was complimented at a surprise birthday party at his home here last Thursday evening sponsored by Mrs. Migliaccio and friends. Bert F.atist entertained the morebors of the Altar society at a Valentine social and business meeting at her home in Castle Gate on Thursday evening. At the business Session plans were made for a dance and program which will be held at the Liberty hall here Tuesday, February 28, and a St. Patricks dance which will be held at Rainbow Gardens March 18. At the close of the evening a dainty two course luncheon was served, with cake and ice cream in Valentine colors being enjoyed, while the tables and room also were cleverly decorated in appro- priate colors. Present were Mesdames James Tabone and J. Thorpe of Castle Gate; J. A. Cresto, Leo Brandol, Victor Litizzette, W. M. Ross, Thompson, Mary Feado and Ange-1- o Pascuzzi of Helper. Mrs. Cresto will sponsor the next meeting at her home Sunday, March 12. Mrs. Morris McNary is entertaining at a quilting bee Thursday at the home of Mrs. Tom Bonacci. Members of the Loyal Order of Moose Tuesday evening of this week, following business meetings in the K. P. hall, were honored by the serving of a lovely luncheon by Mrs. Bert Martin and Mrs. M. E. Moss. The Sodality members held their regular monthly business meeting in the Kiwanis club rooms Tuesday evening. Penney company had a narrow escape from serious injury one evening last week when a heavy icicle became dislodged from the edge of his house and fell, striking him across the head and again across the back and arm as it continued its fall to the ground. Several bruises were the only serious effects.
