SUPER Waler Supply Said To Be Plentiful Optimistic outlook for irrigation water in 1938 was seen by Joseph Hibbard, president, speaking before stockholders of the South Jordan Canal company in annual meeting at the West Jordan junior high school Tuesday afternoon. Nlel 0. Gardner, Sam Green and John Labrum were reelected directors Of the company. "Salt Lake county farmers need not worry about sufficient water to mature their crops next fall," Mr. Hibbard said. "The state department report on water now in Utah lake shows an increase of two feet at present over the 1937 mark for the corresponding period. "While it is true that the coming spring's runoff will not be as heavy as in the spring of 1937, there still remains some 200,000 acre feet of water in the lake. Salt Lake and Utah farmers combined used only 190,000 acre feet last season and if there is but enough runoff to equal evaporation, 9e will have plenty of water to irrigate our crops in 1938."-Telegram.
