I. A.: Duet entitled "Gentle Words", Miss Melba Bateman and •,nss Della Hyatt; Violin Trio, Miss Callie Jensen, Gordon Ohlson and Wilford Pierson, accompained by Miss Helen White at the Piano; "The Scientific Achievement of the last Century" given by Orin Greenwood; Harmonica and Guitar selection, Arthur Allsop; Contest Retold Stories, by Miss Alice Greenwood, Miss Melba B~teman and Miss Jennie Bishop; "The Progress of Civilization", Miss Roxie Nelson; "The Law of Tithing", Mr. Elvin Korth; Law Observance, James D. Rawson. A vaudeville, followed by dancing, will be given Friday evening at the Sandy amusement hall under the auspices ot the Firemen. Mrs. 0. E. Mrs. Henry Jordan is improving at a Salt Lake hospital where she underwent an operation last Friday. Dale Thompson is improving from a setious illness the past two weeks. Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Orton and son Boyd of Salt Lake were guests of relatives here Sunday. The first Flower Show of the season of the Better Home, Flower and Garden club wil be held Friday, May 9 flt the Sandy Junior High school. Mrs. Rodha Craves was a guest of her sister, Mrs. Sarah Graves, of Salt Lake last week l'eturning home Sunday. Mrs. Eleanor Anderson of Cedar City was a gue$t last week of Mrs . A. T. Orton at her home. Mrs. Ander~on left Wednesday to visit relatives at American Fork. Mrs. R. Thomas of South Jordan visited vvith her mother, Mrs. Albert Anderson, l'/Ionday of this week. Mrs. Frank Orton spent part of last week visiting relatives at Granger. The Sandburr Camp of the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers will be held Friday, Hay 9 at the home of Mrs. Alva Hansen. A picture show will be given Wednesday evening, May 14 at the Sandy 'lmm;ement hall. Given under the auspices of the Sunday schools of the Ss.ndy three wards. Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Baumforth and children of Idaho Falls were guests Saturday of Mr. and Mrs. G. D. Charlier. Mr. and Mrs. Rever! Allsop of Salt Lake were guests Sunday of Mr. Allsop's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Allsop. Mr. and Mrs. Wilford Tolman and sons, Cleon and Don, were guests during the week of relatives here. Miss Alberta Webster of Salt Lake was a week-end guest of Miss Fern Hughes. Mr. and Mrs. J. Thomas Ostler and daughter Verla were Salt Lake visitors Friday of last week. Mr. and Mrs. J. Thomas Ostler and children visited Thursday at the home of Mr. Ostler's parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. S. H. Bodell of Herriman. Mrs. A. T. Orton spent part of last week visiting with her son, Mr. Roy . Anderson of Garfield. Mr. and Hrs. Arlo Dumas announce the birth of a daughter, Wednesday April 30th. The tryouts of the Sandy school to compete for the final field day were held Friday, May 2nd at the Sandy school. A Mother's day program will be given in Sunday school, Sunday, May 11th and all Mothers' will be honored. A fire destroyed the home and contents ofMr. C. In honor of the birthday anniversary of Orsen Freeman, friends met at his home Monday evening and pleasantly surprised him.
