Local ball players from hill and dale gathered in Midvale last Wednesday afternoon to see what they could do, and, lo! Bingham fell into the low score hole. A crew from Bingham, just a little to slow for the Copper League, but plenty fast at that, invaded Midvale, anticipating a few scalps. They went away a sadder and wiser lot. The Mldvale aggregration just took off their sweaters and turned in a win • ning score of 8 to 6. The manner in which the localites pulled double plays, made home runs, and otherwise practiced all the known stunts in baseball used by the major leagues would lead one to believe that we do not need to import players. Sun~y at 5 p. m. Midvale will tangle wit the Tribue aggregation and promise the officials, Messrs. Matthews, Nicholsin and Canning, that they will turn in another win. Come out and see the game. The local boys are going good! EAST JORDAN STAKE The Union meeting was held Sunday, June 16th, with a very light attendance. The change of time from 2:30 p. m. to 2 p. m. may have accounted for part of the cause. However, it is hoped that the July Union meeting will show a marked increase in the attendance. Wednesday, June 19, two members of the Salt Lake Council of Boy Scouts attended the regular meeting of the Stake Presidency and the High Council and Bishops, and assisted in organization of the new Scout District committee. Field Executive W. B. Hawkins and John Giles, chairman of the organization committee were the visitors mid both gave valuable instructions to those present.
