Show ALE JOURNAL NEWS IN UNION WEST JORDAN Jack, the little son of Mr. and Mrs. George Smith, of West Jordan, died at his home Thursday, May 16. He was born August 12, 1927. He is survived by his parents and one sister, Pearl. Funeral services were held in the West Jordan chapel Sunday, May 19, under the direction of Bishop ~m. J. Leak. The choir .under the direction of Conrad Dahl, sang, "I Need Thee Every Hour;" invocation Glenn Smith; duet, "Your Sweet Littl~ Rosebud Hat Left You," Mr. Lee and Leo Palmer of South Jordan; remarks by Bishop Leak and Walter Palmer· solo, "Sonny Boy," Mr. Leo Palmer' accompanied by Wm. Newman and Mrs. Leo Palmer; remarks, James A. Bateman; duet, "There is Hope Beyond," Mr. Leo Palmer and Miss May Rasmusson; remarks, Bishop Axel Madsen of Ensign ward of Salt Lake· singing, "Wanted on the Other Side,'~ by choir; benediction, Clarence Palmer. Interment was in the West Jordan cemetery under the direction of The large the Deseret Mortuary. crowd of sympathetic friends and reiatives and the many beautiful flowers showed the love and respect of the community for the family. A large number of friends from this ward attended the funeral servioes at Midvale Sunday for Mrs. Hattie Hobbs Nordberg, wife of LeRoy Nordberg. Hr. Nordberg is the son of Mr. and Mrs. K. H. Nordberg of this ward. Mr. and Mrs. Ross Bateman, Mrs. Lydia Bateman and Lucile Bateman visited at Magna Saturday night the guests of Mr. and Mrs. o. H. Bate'man it being Mrs. Bateman's birthday anniversary. Mrs. Wilford Myers of Riverton was the guest of Mrs. John Lancaster Tuesday. Mrs. Charles Dimond, and Mrs. Vera Lloyd visited at ..Riverton Tuesday. Mr. and Mrs. Orland Newbold of South Jordan are receiving congratulations on the arrival of a daughter in their home. Mrs. Newbold was formerly Miss Reta Richardson. Mr. and Mrs. George Bywater of Nevada announce the birth of a son. Mrs. Bywater was formerly Miss Mable Goodridge of this ward. Miss Lottie and May Palmer and :; Eva Price were dinner guests at the home of Mr. and Mrs. John T. Bo~ dell of Harriman, Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Gilbert Lancaster visited here Thursday evening. Pracilla Manning of Burley, Idaho has returned home after spending two weeks with her sister, Mrs. E. J. Hart. Mr. and Mrs. E. J. Hart spent Sunday visiting in Ogden. Mrs. A. I. Peterson, Mrs. Neven r== Crabb and Mrs. M. fl. Newell spent Friday of last week visiting in Salt Lake. Mrs. Henry Egbert and daughter Ellen visited here Friday evening. Ve~ita McAllister spent last week = at Mtdvale, guest of her brother, Mr. == and Mrs. Donald McAllister. The marriage of Stanley A. Oldham of Sandy to Sadie Dwight 'of = Murray, took place last week.
