OODF.N THE HEADQUARTERS. The upon Utah as the headquarters for the Mormons; and it is proposed that Salt Lake City be declared the headquarters for the outlaws; and that Ogden be adopted aa the headquarters of the genuine Mormons, The only attraction that Salt Lake City has evor possessed, was the tabernacle and the grave of the outlaw chief. If Ogden builds a better tabernacle and rects to the memory of Joseph Smith a fine monument, the tourist travel will come here instead of going to Salt Lake City. The proposition here made, is suggested by the fact that the Utah Mor mona realize that they have no leader at present in this territory; and the additional fact that the population of the old capital of the outlaws is banded by every means, honorable, to depress val ues in the live American city or Ugaen. It is said on the streets today that the programme of Salt Lake City, on the part of both Mormons and Gentiles during the recent political campaign was to carry Salt Lake liberal and Ogden democratic, for the purpose of raising the hue and cry that Ogden had gone back to the Mormons. The only stock in trade that Salt Lake has, is the tabernacle of the outlaws and the grave of the impostor. Brigham Young never claimed to be a prophet, seer or revelator. If, now, the real prophet, 6eer and revelator makes his headquarters at Ogden, the hotels at Salt Lake will forever close their doors Ogden will have played the only drawing card. BOTH from those THE ARION PICNIC. world, however, is wont to look NAME AND GAME. By the way, G. Palen of the Niagara, is a brother-in-laf Jay Gould. The general office for the various mines of several states and territories are gradually moving their headquarters to Ogden. The principal railroad center between Denver and the Pacific Ocean is at Ogden. The principal shipping point and the wholesale mart of the inter mountain region are at Ogden. The University, the Reform school, the Military academv, the Sacred Heart academy, the Weber academy, the Union depot, the manufacturing enterprises; the Hot Springs, the canon drives, the Syracuse bathing resort on the shore of Salt Lake, the only mile driving park and fair grounds, and many other things too numerous to mention, belong to Ogden; and by the eternals, the headquarters of the Mormon church will be established at Ogden! Salt Lake City will have nothing left but the grave of its impostor on the dead issues of the dead past. On behalf of the followers of Joseph Smith the prophet, bolt, revelator, w l0 The Arion Musical Club will go on a picnic excursion to uucneneau a urove this afternoon.
