Sherman and arrangements for the funeral were given out by Lieut, t itch. Gen Sherman lay in bod from Friday morning until he died today without speak ing a word. He made an attempt to do so several tiniep, but was unable to utter a sound other than a hoarse gasp. He apparently recognized those about him by a look of the eye. His tongue was swollen and his jaws still some hours be fore he died. Signs of death were noticed a half hour before he died, in the icy coldness of the fingertips.
