A black Rube Burrows was captured near this city and lodged in jail here tonight. His name is Tube Jackson, and he is wanted for burglary, highway robbery and conspiracy to rob and murder. Jackson had organized a band of negro robbers, and they had planned to rob and murder a railroad contractor who was going out tomorrow with Sd,000 to pay oil his men. Several negroes who had been asked to join the band declined to do so, and gave the officers information which led to the arrest of Jackson. To the negroes he wanted to join him Jackson declared that he inherited the spirit of Rube Burrows, the train robber, and if they would follow him they could steal loads of money, and would never be caught. Ho and his band have bceu robbing freight cars in the railroad yards and committing several highway robberies. The have enough evidence, they officers think, to convict him in a half dozen cases.
