Show 33iifrt Monitor SEPTEMBER IS, 1995 Public VM22 To Be PAGE 4 Held In Beaver, Utah OalSSS Sport Fishing Bales A public meeting is scheduled for September 20, 1995 at 7:00 p.m. at the Opera House Civic Center 81 East Center Street, Beaver, Utah.. Public comments will be accepted by the Regional Wildlife Advisory Council (RWAC committee) For changes in the state fishing proclamation to be set for 1996. Representatives from the Utah Division of Wildlife Resources will also be present to answer questions and participate in discussions of sport fishing situations in Southern Utah. Of particular local concern has been the special fishing regulations that apply to Minersville Reservoir. Rules at Minersville require fishing with flies and lures only and a trout limit of one fish which must be over 20 inches long. Numerous written comments from the public have already been received on this issue. Written comments that already have been sent to the Utah Division of Wildlife Resources will be presented to the RWAC committee at the meeting on September 20. Additional time will be set aside at the meeting to specifically discuss fishing rules at Minersville Reservoir. Interested citizens are encouraged to attend the meeting and provide input. Fishing has been inconsistent. Larger numbers offish seem to be located in the upper end of the lake. Try fishing wooly buggers, leach patterns or plastic baits that imitate crayfish. Trolling using spinners has been good also. Most rainbows range from 12-1- 6 inches. There are some reports of fish up to 25 inches, a compressor is available at the state park to fill float tubes. Remember special regulations: artificial flies and lures only, limit of one fish which must be at least 20 inches long. - Escalante CH S.
