August 22. 1995 At 1:00 p.m. in the Milford LDS 2nd Obituaries "Jackie" Milford: Jacqueline Evelyn Williams, 71, passed away oo August 18, 1995 at her home in Milford. She was born on February 26. 1924 in Buffalo Gap, South Dakota to Bert H. And Hazel She Lydia Howe Maxson. married McCoy Williams on November 7, 1947 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Jackie graduated from Laramie High School in Laramie, Wyoming. She attended the McKay D. Nursing School in Ogden. She served as the nursing supervisor in Milford Hospital for 47 years. She also served with the Red Cross for over 25 years. She gave of herself to her community, church and family. She and her husband raised 35 foster children most of which and were Native Americans exchange students from Mexico and South America She was a very loving wife, mother, grandmother and foster mother and was loved by her community. She is survived by her husband McCoy of Milford, children, Randyl and Renie Williams of South Jordan, Tamera and Steve Sorsch of Spring Lake, North Carolina, Todd and Maria Williams of Cedar City, and Travis & Lillian Parashonts of St. George. 16 grand and 1 great grandchild. Brother Fred and Verda Maxson of Rapid City, South Dakota. Sisters, Beatrice & Murl Foote of Spokane, Washington and Josephine Conrad of Boulder. Colorado. She was preceded in death by one Son, Kim Lamar Williams. Funeral services were held Hospital Volunteers WardChapd. Friends called at the Jacqueline Evelyn Williams Olpin Mortuary in Milford on Monday evening from 7 p.m. to 9 pm and on Tuesday from 11 am to 12:30 p.m. Interment was in the Milford Cemetery under the direction of Olpin Mortuary-- . Terryella Griffith Beaver: Terryella Griffith age 75 died August 18, 1995 in the Valley View Medical Center in Cedar City. She was born Feb. 15, 1920 in Bismarck, North Dakota to Peter and Louise Shelter Ding. She married Jon Lynn Griffith June 13, 1963 in Portland, Oregon. He died March 8, 1984. Survived by two sons; Michael, San Diego, California and Jack of Calif. 4 Escondido, grandchildren; George, Teresa, Melinda, Tina and Also one survived by 10 brothers and sisters. The adult volunteer program is under the leadership of Nadine Jones, chairman; Liz Lamb, Secretary, Elaine Bradfield, Treasurer; and Vicki Beverly Davis, Historian. Carter, The Junior Volunteer Program was established with Pam Durrant and Mary Jo Holmes as leaders. Both of these programs have been very successful this past year, adding to the accomplishments of our Health Care System. The Junior volunteers have been working with patients, supplying ice and reading materials, working on parties with the long term care patients, and being available to do other needed jobs around the hospital. The adult volunteers have established a gift shop from which they have collected over $1,400.00 and have donated $1,000.00 towards a future birthing room at the hospital. They have also contributed many hours in answering the telephones at the hospital. In the future, volunteers will continue to influence the success of the hospital. Volunteers will be needed in the hospital for manning hospital as well as clinic phones, sitting with new born babies, doing filing and other clerical duties in the hospital and clinic business offices. There is a great need for volunteers to be available to present programs to the long term care patients, to read to them or to do personal care such as their hair and nails. Vice-Chairm- The hospital now has a full time recreational and social service therapist. Volunteers are needed to work with her in doing daily activities with the long term care patients. Some of these activities may include exercising, playing games, reading papers and helping with tours and parties for our patients. Volunteers are also needed to assist in the feeding of patients, taking patients on walks, as well as working in the volunteer gift shop. For individuals who would like to volunteer their time to make gifts for the gift shop, : McCoy Williams ?s materials will be purchased by the Adult Axillary Organization.
