Posture of the council directly follows a letter from Jones and DeMille Engineering, dated July 28, 1995 and addressed to the mayor and council, concerning Councilman Mark Dotson s request for the cost for Milford City to deliver water to potential large industrial users. It is unclear whether Dotson formally declared to the council his association www mmmmm m""' mf1' ' ' ' with a firm attempting to acquire large quantities of water for industrial use before making the inquiry. Jones' letter pointed out: 1. In order to preserve the limited water resources of Milford City, large water users not requiring high quality culinary should be encouraged to develop their own water supplies. 2. Water rales should be universally applied to encourage conservation and to generate sufficient revenue to maintain and provide for future needs. The subject of bulk water use may or may not have been on the August 5 council agenda. It w as not on the copy supplied to the Milford Monitor. When it came up for discussion in the meeting (probable OLD BUS1XESS item 4 or 5), it was quickly passed over.
