Funds generated from the 1995 BBB White Hat Classic will be used to purchase videotapes and teaching outlines on ethics for Utah's high schools. The tournament is scheduled to begin at 2 p.m. on August 1 1 at Pari; Meadows Country Club, 2000 Meadows Dr. in Park City. Meetings with educators and students helped the bureau a need for ethics identityeducation materials at the high school level. The bureau determined educators will be used materials that are well-maand de readily accessible to schools. The BBB held its first White Hat Classic in 1993. Funds from the event were used to purchase '"Choices, a Guide to Ethical Decision. Making' lor Utah's elementary and middle schools. The videotape and accompanying teaching guide was distributed to 450 schools. Evaluations from educators across the state gave Choices high marks. Persons interested in participating in the White Hat Classic can obtain additional informauon by calling the BBB at (801) 487-465- 6 or (801) Gem Stale Power Beaver Resident Lifting ( hampion Idaho ( hampion Pocatcllo, Idaho: Troy Gent of Beaver, Utah, entering his first official Power Lining meet Saturday, July 15, totaled 725 lbs. to win the Idaho State Summer Games Teenage 165 lb. Power Lining Championship. Although excited by his first after coming state championship, close to w inning Utah State Olympic lifting titles in March and June, the high school junior to be felt he could have come a little closer to his training lifts of 2251bs. in the bench press, 30(1 lbs. in the parallel squat and 350 lbs. in the dead lift for an 875 lb. total. Troy is coached by his father, Robert R. Gent. Pocatello, Idaho: Davis Field - Idaho State Umversity: Master's athlete Robert Gent of Beaver, Utah, found the Bengal facilities of Idaho State University to his liking Saturday, July 15th. He ran, threw and jumped in seven track and field events in the 50-5- 4 age group to pick up seven gold medals in Idaho Summer Games competition. The Beaver athlete's wins came in the discus, javelin, long jump, 200 meter, 1500 meter, pentathlon and 50 meter dash.
