Show HILL TOP TIMES february 24, 1956 Page 3 Barbershoppers Give Invitation To Big Songfest A special invitation was extended to Hillfielders today to attend the fourth annual "Parade of Quartets" which will be staged Saturday, March 17, at 8 p.m. at Ben Lomond High School auditorium. The invitation was extended by Harry Harman, Work Measurement, Industrial Engineering, who is president of the Ogden Chapter of the Society for the Preservation and Encouragement of Barber Shop Quartet Singing in America, 0 Inc. The show, which is sponsored by the SPEBSQSA, promises to be bigger and better than ever with visitine auartets from Salt Lake City and California, sharing the guest spotlight. Featured will be the Verdugo Dons of Los Angeles, in the 1955 SPEBSQSA western regional contest. The Tonichords, Beehive Statesmen and Novelaires will be Salt Lake City's contribution to the program. Ogden's Moonlight Knights and Utahnaires will be among the quartets participating from the local chapter, Mr. Harman indicated. The Ogden chapter chorus, composed of 35 voices, also will perform. Another highlight of the show will be the appearance ot the "Sweet Adelines," a group of lady barbershoppers. Other Hill AFB personnel, who are active in SPEBSQSA circles are Roy Freeman, Employee Services; Dave Whitesides, Supply; and Tom Lundgren, Radio Repair.
