Confer on Management h mrnj w. turn mm m ft ' 30-DA- .$5.00 VALUE Action in the Ogden Girls Softball League the last two weeks found the Hill Field entries breaking even in their four games, The WAFs copped one contest from the Civilian gals, 12 to 8, but lost to the Weber College Coeds 18 to 4 while the Civilians tripped Wall Avenue Center 11 to 3 for their victory. In the wild and wooly Weber fray the Coeds coupled 10 free passes and two WAF errors with their eight safeties to tally the 18 counters. The big blast for the colhomer legians was a grand-slaby Pitcher Sonny Nelson, who also held the WAFs to four singles and struck out all three batters in the second frame. ' The Civilians walloped the Wall "Flowers" by rapping out seven safeties to go with five Wall errors and count ,11 runs while Hill's chucker, Rosalie Reese, spun a fancy three hitter. A seven run first inning gave the as they WAFs a big cushion breezed to their ' 12 to 8 triumph over the Civilians in the ll encounter. Each team had nine hits but the WAFs had the benefit of 12 free tickets to first while the Civvies got only one walk 'from the WAF"s Rosa Shermer. Peggy Yoho, the WAF third-sacke- r, pulled an "Eddie Stanky" by going to the plate four times and angling four walks, while Madeline Putnam and Nancy Tjonsland each picked up two hits to power the WAF attack. Inter-Installati- on Management Officials From Military Installations Confer at Mill Hill Air Force Base played host-flast week to management officials from local military establishments manageat an ment conference, according to Lt. Colonel A. I Hankin, Comptroller. This conference was the first of a series of scheduled meetings with key management personnel from Clearfield Naval Supply Depot, Og-e- n Arsenal, Utah General Depot and Hill Air Force Base. Ward, chief of management at Utah General Depot. An open discussion of management methods followed. In attendance were Colonel Ward, Jack T. Caine and Ralph P. Richardson from Utah General Depot; C. Walter Malan from Ogden Arsenal; T. W. Foley and Walter Marceli from Naval Supply Depot; and Colonel Hankin, Lt. Colonel Merle G. Coombs, Major H. A. Garrison and M A. Niland from Hill Air Force Base. .l Next meeting is scheduled for July at Utah General Depot. stinging right to take the title.
