Show Ja. X i!15IJ1Sl I : ;i i) 1 'The Edison o. HU1 Field': Tom Adamson, Janitor Chief A clever yet simple little plastic device one and inches square with a slot in it, which is Ha Field, Utah Wednesday, April 26, 1944 expected to lighten the burden of wooden-des- k typists all over Hill Field, has been invented by Thomas E. Adamson, supervisor of supply division janitors. iiiiTiviiii..i. The device is now in use in many t inni" iir , offices in supply headquarters and can be made at the rate of four in five minutes. It is designed to replace rags, paper, erasures, ' boxes, and old theatre stubs as sta1 nT bilizers for typewriters. Three lit , f? tle screws clamp it in place alongside the machine. - VW? s ; This is merely Mr. Adamson's latest invention. On the second of next month Brig. Gen. Morris OASC commanding general, is scheduled to present him with an award for an improved floor polisher, in use for the past two months in the supply administrative offices. He has also developed a flat sur face polisher for desks that can be rejuvenated with rough sandpaper. It is made of scrap wood and felt. He is now designing a modification of this brush so that it may be used to clean under desks. Mr. Adamson has been called the 'common man's Edison." He came to Sand Ridge four and a half years ago when it was covered with sage brush and what hay would grow. In those days the mountain winds swept unchecked and uncursed over the barren ta bleland that was destined to embrace one of the world's largest air depots. Mr, Adamson helped build the long runways and many of the early temporary structures several of which are still standing. He will nave been janitor chief for three years come next month. His home is in Ogden. He has one son, Lt. Lloyd T. Adamson. !'
