Almost Perfect Attendance Here New Machine Revolutionary; Helps Speed Up Production A revolutionary new machine for rewinding and winding the armatures in dynamotors has been developed recently in the radio repair branch here. It is based on a principle con- -f ceived by a ' radio repair branch employe, Henry C. Hanson. Hanson also built the first model and to rewind used it successfully armatures. The new machine will rewind the PE-7- 3 Dynamotor in 40 hours' less time than formerly required in hand winding. Maintenance officials are considering the possibility of building a similar machine for use in armatures used in aircraft engines. Designs have been forwarded to Air Service Command headquarters for possible adoption of the device throughout the ASC. Permission has been granted, partly because of Hanson's invention, for the repair of radio armatures at the Ogden Air Service Command. ' Previously, all armatures used in signal equipment were sent to Sacramento air service command. Repair done here will save the time involved in transit between the two stations. Hanson has been employed here since April, 1942, previously worked at the North American Aviation company, Inglewood, California, and before that operated a radio repair shop in Sterling,.
