Bed Cross Awards Beginning Classes for Women Bowlers Opens in Ogden Last night marked the first ses- -f sion of the women's bowling school, held at the Ogden Bowling Center. A similar session will take place next Saturday noon, July 31, I" m for Howard Braun, of the recreation unit, is conducting the school and will be assisted by other members of the recreation staff. Braun is an experienced and capable bowler and consistently bowls over 200. He has taught bowlers in other sections of the United States. The first lesson included the type of ball to use, approach, and pin arrangement. The remaining lessons, in addition to reviewing the material covered in the first ses sion, will emphasize stance, bal ance, delivery of the ball and the procedure for picking up spares, Plans are being made to organize teams for league competition at the completion of the bowling school. Newcomers to the sport who wish to learn the correct tech nique and enjoy this popular sport activity, are encouraged to attend these classes. Upon completion of the 30 - hour instructor's prescribed course, the aquatically minded soldiers will be awarded Red Cross Instructors' Certificates, and will be fully qualified as official Red Cross swimming instructors. Leaving the field at 8:30 each the paddlers undergo morning, three full hours of intensive training each day.
